MultiRake Perforated Plate Screen

GVS - High Capture Screen

Screening in the wastewater industry continues to evolve, with fresh options for existing and new applications debuting every few years.  Manual bar racks were the first attempt at keeping debris out of the wastewater treatment process.  The manual version was replaced by the reciprocating rake bar screens (climber screens) and then again by the multiple rake screens.  Bar screens continue to provide excellent protection in many applications, such as pump protection or first stage screening in an MBR process.

Because bar screens have been around for a long time, many of them are reaching the end of their service life.  Wastewater treatment plants are using this opportunity to install the next generation of headworks screens and these screens have holes, not bars.

Independent testing has proven that perforated plate screens have higher capture rates that can be as high as 85% depending on design.  Bar-type screens achieve a capture of less than 35%.

One of those next generation screens is the SAVI® GVS Multi-Rake Perforated Plate Screens.  In this unique MultiRake screen design, bars are replaced by stainless steel perforated plate to achieve higher debris capture. Multiple wipers remove the debris from the perforated plate and transport the screened material to discharge.

The MultiRake Perf can be mounted in traditional channels at 75 degrees, or at 90 degrees for deep, narrow channels and wet wells.  This screen is available in tank for pumped flows. The low maintenance design makes it an excellent choice for remote locations.

SAVI MultiRake Perf screens have been operating in textile operations for years.  If there is a nursing home, hospital, prison or textile facility in need of a screen or discharging to a WWTP, this MultiRake design is the right choice.
